Medical professionals and humanitarian reports claim that the conflict in Gaza has seriously harmed the health of women and newborns. Many pregnant women are giving birth without the necessary care, hospitals have been destroyed or closed, and medical supplies are in short supply. For both mothers and babies, this has raised the risk of death, complications, and long-term health issues.

Doctors claim that Gaza's healthcare system has been weakened by Israel's military actions, making routine maternity care nearly impossible. Incubators malfunction, surgeries are postponed, and emergency care is frequently unavailable due to power outages, fuel shortages, and blocked medical access. Simple diseases that are typically curable are turning into possible fatalities.

Pregnancy outcomes are directly impacted by the extreme stress, malnourishment, and displacement that Gazan women experience. Many are forced to give birth in cramped shelters or deteriorated facilities without access to clean water, painkillers, or trained personnel. Among the most vulnerable are newborns, particularly those born prematurely.

Health professionals warn that the harm will continue long after the conflict has ended. In addition to erasing years of advancements in women's health in Gaza, the collapse of maternal and neonatal care runs the risk of producing a generation with long-term health problems.

“The entire next generation of children born in Gaza are going to be affected by the biological and physiological impact of malnutrition,” said Saman Zia-Zarifi, Executive Director of PHR, showing the severity of the current situation
