The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has approved new funding to support development projects in Jordan and Morocco. The investments aim to improve water security, agriculture and rural livelihoods while helping both countries strengthen their economies.

In Morocco, the bank approved €188.82 million for a project to reduce water stress. The funding will support the construction of dams and other infrastructure to improve water supplies and transfer water from northern areas to regions facing shortages in the south. Morocco will also receive an additional funding of €18.23 million to expand inland fish farming, creating new jobs and increasing local food production.

In Jordan, the IsDB approved $11.25 million for the Rural Employment and Agricultural Growth Program (HOPE). The project will help create jobs in rural communities and improve agricultural productivity. It will also focus on supporting women and young people by giving them better access to finance, skills training and market opportunities.
