Al Jana
Overview
The Arab Resource Center for Popular Arts (ARCPA) generally referred to as JANA was born on the road in 1989. JANA was to celebrate popular arts but also to bring these closer to people, especially marginalized and young people supporting craft arts, arts and income generating projects in marginalized communities by providing courses in techniques, design and history. Promoting Active Learning and creative expression in extracurricular programs for marginalized children. This became a major program at JANA that made an impact all over Lebanon.
AL-JANA/ARCPA works with communities that face marginalization in Lebanon in building on their strengths, and documenting and disseminating their empowering experiences and cultural contributions. Stemming from its work in the arts, AL-JANA also produces learning and creative resources by and for children and youth.
