Al-Jumhuriya

Overview

Al‑Jumhuriya Collective is an independent Arabic-language media platform founded in March 2012 by a group of Syrian writers, academics, and journalists both inside and outside Syria. Headquartered in Berlin as a non-profit registered in Germany, the collective seeks to amplify Syrian and broader Arab voices through investigative journalism, in-depth commentary, long-form essays, interviews, podcasts, translation, and short fiction. The platform focuses particularly on Syrian politics, society, and culture, aiming to illuminate the complexities of the Syrian conflict and its aftermath. Contributors blend rigorous journalistic research with analytical coverage, providing context and nuanced storytelling. They also work to train aspiring Syrian journalists, enhancing their ability to produce analytical and interpretive reporting—not just raw news-gathering
