Al-Noor Center for the Blind
Overview
The "Al-Noor Institute for the Blind" was founded in 1998 to empower visually impaired people in the State of Qatar. It was intended to care for blind children who were older than three. After 20 years, and particularly in 2018, it was decided to rename this institution the "Al-Noor Center for the Blind," which will help provide exemplary services to individuals with visual impairments in the areas of education, rehabilitation, and raising community awareness of their rights and issues to maximize their integration into society and lead more independent lives. The center operates under the umbrella of the Qatari Foundation for Social Work, which in turn is affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
