Established by activists and experts in democratic development and human rights, UNIHRD operates independently and with political neutrality, collaborating with regional and international organizations on research, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives. Its mission focuses on strengthening democratic values, protecting civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights, particularly for vulnerable groups, and enhancing public awareness of human rights standards. The center carries out its work through research studies, training programs, workshops, conferences, and publications, while also fostering partnerships with UN agencies and other NGOs. By engaging with civil society actors and communities throughout the Arab world, UNIHRD seeks to encourage participatory civic engagement, peaceful conflict resolution, and the broader adoption of democratic practices and human rights culture.
