Bahrain Red Crescent Society

Overview

The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) is a humanitarian organization established in 1971, officially recognized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in 1972. Operating under the principles of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement—humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality—the BRCS provides aid and relief during times of conflict, natural disasters, and other emergencies. It plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable communities both within Bahrain and internationally by offering health services, disaster relief, blood donation drives, and community outreach programs. The society also engages in humanitarian diplomacy, youth volunteerism, and public education on health and safety. With strong ties to international humanitarian bodies, BRCS serves as a key national partner in disaster preparedness and response, while promoting a culture of volunteerism and compassion in Bahraini society.
