Overview
CARE Egypt Foundation (CEF) is an Egyptian, non-governmental organization harnessing the legacy of CARE International in Egypt since 1954 to fight poverty and improve livelihoods. They envision Egypt as a place where everyone enjoys economic opportunities, equality and social justice. They empower women and girls by sharing their values amongst the private sector, government and civil society.
In 2020, CARE Egypt reached nearly 867,000 people in around 10 governorates in Lower and Upper Egypt through 26 projects such as provided food, shelter, housing assistance to aid refugees and asylum- seekers. they support school students in order not to drop out from schools in local communities. They also support small farmers to increase their productivity, they work closely with rural women to increase their economic opportunities, and they attribute special attention to youth employability and skills needed for the job market
