Overview
The Research Center for Studies, Documentation and Information on Women (CREDIF) has devoted a major part of its scientific activities for several years to issues related to violence against women (VAW). In addition to its advocacy, capacity-building and awareness-raising actions for the promulgation of Law 58 and its application, A dozen multidisciplinary empirical investigations, scientific articles and actions relating to the production of specific indicators likely to measure VAW from administrative records. The Gender and Equal Opportunities Observatory of CREDIF, since its revitalization in 2012, attempts to identify the extent of the complex phenomenon of VAW, being a priority sectoral axis in terms of prevention and control.
