Climate Action Network Jordan (CAN)

Overview

Climate Action Network Jordan (CAN) is a non-governmental organization based in Amman, founded in 2013. It is the first environmental organization in the Middle East dedicated to addressing climate change. CAN operates under the supervision of the Jordan Ministry of Environment and is governed by a Board of Directors made up of experts in climate action and sustainable innovations.

The organization focuses on supporting vulnerable and marginalized groups in Jordan, including children, women, refugees, and farmers. CAN implements climate resilience and sustainable development programs tailored to the needs of these communities. Its activities include climate change adaptation projects, capacity-building workshops, research, and policy advocacy.
