Doctors Aid Medical Activities (DAMA)
Overview
Doctors Aid for Medical Activities (DAMA) is a non-profit, non-governmental Iraqi organization established in 2016 in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), and later registered in Baghdad in 2018. Founded during the ISIS crisis, DAMA's primary objective is to deliver high-quality medical care to individuals in need while promoting awareness of healthy living and disease prevention. The organization is committed to supporting the Iraqi Ministry of Health and other stakeholders in restoring and enhancing the national health system, ensuring equitable access to quality health services for all citizens and refugees. DAMA's core values include respect, quality, accountability, supportiveness, reliability, and adherence to medical ethics. Their activities encompass operating primary health care centers in camps such as Hasan Sham U3 and Jadaa 6, providing mobile medical clinics, implementing nutrition and immunization programs, and offering various training courses for healthcare professionals, including First Aid, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
