Overview
The Forum des Alternatives Maroc (FMAS) is a Moroccan non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting and defending human rights, with a focus on economic, political, social, civic, and cultural rights. It aims to build a strong, autonomous, and democratic social movement that transcends distinctions of race, ethnicity, language, religion, or gender. FMAS operates independently of any partisan affiliations, collaborating with various movements and actors committed to democracy, equity, and social justice. As the Moroccan member of Alternatives International, FMAS engages in activities such as advocacy, capacity building, research, and media outreach. It addresses issues like poverty, illiteracy, social exclusion, and the marginalization of vulnerable groups. FMAS also coordinates the e-Joussour portal, which connects civil society organizations across the Maghreb and Mashreq regions, promoting the use of information and communication technologies for social change.
