Heya Masr

Overview

Heya Masr (She is Egypt) is a volunteer-based social non-profit in Cairo, Egypt that operates as a registered non-profit organization (Registration #10407; dated 01/05/2017). Heya Masr targets disadvantaged young girls and boys aged 8-18 with the aim of strengthening their character by providing a safe and nurturing environment for physical activities, nutritional and healthy lifestyle education, character development activities and sexual harassment awareness and self-defense strategies.

While Their program varies depending on the needs of the partner and the community it serves, it is typically delivered on a weekly basis over a period of 6-9 months, with 24-30 sessions in total. Students go through three levels; beginner, intermediate, and advanced. A graduation ceremony is held at the completion of each level to recognize the success and accomplishments of the participants. Currently they work with students aged 8-14, however, they aim to work with 15-18-year-old.

Heya Masr's program is developed with a long-term focus on character building and emotional intelligence education. They aim to build strong and healthy minds, valuable critical thinking skills, healthy nutritional habits, and increased sexual harassment awareness. This is achieved through three main modules:
- Character development
- Sexual harassment and anti-bullying infused with self-defense techniques
- Healthy nutrition education.

So far the program has been able to reach over 200 girls and boys and they are planning on continuing our partnership with those centers. The program is customizable to fit any entity timeline to better suit the community we serve.
