Hope and Homes for Children is a British international charity established in 1994, headquartered in Salisbury, England. The organization operates in various regions, including Eastern Europe, Central and Southern Europe, East and Southern Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and India. Its mission is to end the institutionalization of children by transitioning them from orphanages to family-based care and supporting families at risk of breakdown. The charity has been instrumental in the deinstitutionalization movement, successfully closing 139 institutions across over 20 countries and preventing more than 288,000 children from entering institutional care. Their services include deinstitutionalization programs, family support services, and community-based care alternatives like day centers and emergency reception units. They also engage in advocacy to influence childcare system reforms globally. With around 200 employees, Hope and Homes for Children is committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow up in a loving family environment
