Overview

İzmir Katip Çelebi University is a public university located in the Çiğli district of İzmir, Türkiye. Established in 2010, it is one of the country's newer state universities and is named after the renowned 17th-century Ottoman scholar and scientist Kâtip Çelebi. The university is committed to providing high-quality education, advancing scientific research, and fostering innovation while strengthening collaboration with industry, public institutions, and international partners. IKCU offers a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes through its faculties, institutes, vocational schools, and research centers, with particular strengths in health sciences, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, economics, humanities, and maritime studies. It places strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and internationalization, actively participating in Erasmus+ exchanges and collaborative research projects with universities and organizations worldwide.
