Jeunes Au Service des Femmes Kasserine

Overview

Founded in 2016 and based in Kasserine, Jeunes au service des femmes Kasserine (JSFK) is a young Tunisian association dedicated to humanitarian aid, women’s health, and gender rights. Under the leadership of President Lawahedh Samaali, the organization established a listening and support centre for women survivors of violence in 2023, offering both psychological support and temporary accommodation. With a capacity to host eight women, it had already welcomed 47 women and 32 children by mid‑2025. Despite the centre’s positive impact, JSFK faced severe financial challenges due to an unfulfilled funding agreement with the regional police commissariat for women and children. As a result, it accrued debt, lost electricity in January 2025, and was even forced to liquidate its equipment by May 2025—prompting sit‑ins and calls for public support to avoid a major setback in women’s rights in a region where violence is notably rising.
