KAFA
Overview
KAFA is a feminist Lebanese non-profit civil society organization working towards eradicating all forms of gender-based violence and exploitation of women and girls through advocating for legal reform and change of policies and practices, influencing public opinion, and empowering victims. Our focus areas are: Family violence; exploitation and trafficking in women, especially in migrant domestic workers and women in prostitution; Child protection, particularly from sexual and gender-based violence. KAFA seeks to realize substantive gender equality through the adoption of a combination of different approaches including
- Advocacy for law reform and introduction of new laws and policies
- Influencing public opinion, practices and mentality
- Conducting research and training
- Empowering women and children victims of violence, and providing them with social, legal, and psychological support.
