L`Association Tunisienne d`Action Culturelle (ATAC)

Overview

L`Association Tunisienne d`Action Culturelle (ATAC) is a sociocultural organization founded on February 11, 2011, in Regueb, located in the Sidi Bouzid governorate of Tunisia. ATAC aims to promote a culture of peace by overcoming misunderstandings and stereotypes that affect relationships within Tunisian society. The organization focuses on supporting cultural initiatives, fostering a culture of citizenship and human rights, ensuring access to leisure and cultural activities for all social groups, and defending freedom of creation, thought, and expression. ATAC operates in several key areas, including culture, social development, and human rights. The organization recognizes that cultural stagnation can be an obstacle to the socio-economic integration of young people into the job market. To address this, ATAC encourages youth engagement in various fields by facilitating access to culture and leisure while raising awareness of fundamental rights. Some of ATAC's main activities include collaborating with other organizations to exchange experiences, drafting joint declarations with NGOs, establishing networks in the cultural and social fields, sharing reports and information with relevant organizations, and organizing joint activities. The association works with 34 non-governmental organizations as well as public and international institutions. Its primary beneficiaries include children, youth, and women.
