Lebanon Mountain Trail Association (LMTA)
Overview
Since its foundation in 2007, the LMT Association has been working to develop and protect the LMT and to promote a socially responsible tourism that safeguards natural, cultural and historical heritage along the trailside. LMTA has expanded rural tourism in Lebanon and opened many new opportunities for longer stays in mountain destinations.
LMTA has helped with the creation and development of services within the value chain along the trail: accommodations, local mountain guides, trail marking, development of maps, tour packages with tour operators, mobilization of local communities, and has improved visits and accessibility of the trail.
The LMTA has gradually become a reference organization in trail development, including the creation of destinations and accommodations along the trail,
