Mateen

Overview

Mateen is a non-profit organization based in Jordan that was established in October 2016, specializing in supporting marginalized children. Guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Mateen works through sustainable interventions to reduce educational inequalities by enabling disadvantaged school children to access quality education. The organization also provides psychosocial support to create a stable, safe, and nurturing environment for children, while supporting efforts to reduce the economic vulnerability of families so they can meet their children’s basic needs. In addition, Mateen develops strategies and programs to prevent and respond to child abuse, exploitation, violence, and family disintegration, and it actively communicates and advocates for children’s basic legal rights, including the right to civil registration, to improve their access to public services and economic opportunities. Furthermore, Mateen supports awareness-raising initiatives to highlight and protect the rights of marginalized children, ensuring their well-being and inclusion in society.
