Medecins du Monde (MDM) Switzerland

Overview

Medecins du Monde Suisse was founded in 1993 in Neuchatel as an independent humanitarian association dedicated to securing sustainable access to healthcare for vulnerable populations both in Switzerland and abroad. As one of the member associations of the international Doctors of the World network, it combines direct medical “acts” with human‑rights “witnessing” to advance universal health justice, operating impartially and free from political or religious influence.

Internationally, Médecins du Monde Suisse contributes to over 300 humanitarian and development programmes across more than 80 countries. Recent deployments have included emergency relief in Gaza, maternal‑child health and GBV prevention in sub‑Saharan Africa, migrant health in Latin America, and earthquake and pandemic responses in Asia. Collaboration with local health authorities and UN agencies ensures coordination and capacity‑building in the most fragile settings
