Medico international e.V. is an independent German aid and human‑rights organisation, founded in Frankfurt in 1968. From its earliest days, it has stood for “solidarity amidst global upheaval,” positioning itself as a critical voice alongside those affected by oppression, war and exclusion under global capitalism Guided by principles of social justice, human rights and structural change, medico fights not only for immediate relief but for the elimination of poverty’s root causes. Its work is underpinned by the conviction that aid must restore autonomy and dignity—promoting sustainable structures rather than merely replacing local actors in crises.
