Middle East Policy Council
Overview
The Middle East Policy Council (MEPC) is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., founded in 1981. It focuses on providing credible analysis and educational resources related to political, economic, and cultural issues that affect U.S.-Middle East relations. Originally named the American-Arab Affairs Council, MEPC aims to foster informed dialogue on these important topics without advocating for a specific political agenda. MEPC operates through three main pillars: the quarterly journal *Middle East Policy*, which is a highly regarded academic publication; the Breaking Analysis Series, which offers diverse analyses for a broader audience; and various policy products and programming, including tailored events for policymakers and expert commentary for media outlets. Additionally, MEPC runs TeachMideast, an educational initiative that provides resources and training for educators and civic leaders to enhance understanding of the Arab world and Islam. Its target audience includes policymakers, educators, students, the general public, and media organizations.
