The Not-for-Profit Operational Concerns Constituency (NPOC) is a part of ICANN’s Non-Commercial Stakeholders’ Group (NCSG) within the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO). It represents the interests of non-profit organizations, such as NGOs and other not-for-profit entities, by giving them a voice in internet governance and policy development. NPOC focuses on issues that directly impact the operations of non-profits online, including domain name abuse, transparency and privacy in domain registration, fraud, cybersecurity, and intellectual property abuse. Through its committees and policy engagement, it provides members with opportunities to participate in ICANN’s decision-making processes and public consultations. Any non-profit organization that owns an internet domain is generally eligible to join NPOC, allowing it to influence global internet policy while safeguarding its operational concerns.
