Overview

The Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) is the Regional organization for the conservation of the environment in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden; PERSGA is an IGO have seven member states and they are Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

PERSGA has devised a system of monitoring and evaluation to ensure the Organization is achieving its program objectives laid out in the Strategic Action Plan, and to incorporate a system of transparency into project management.

  • Biodiversity and the Network of Marine Reserves
  • Regional Environmental Monitoring
  • Maritime Emergency Mutual Aid Center (IMERSGA)
  • Training and Capacity Building
  • Raising awareness and education for sustainable development
  • Protecting the environment from marine pollution
  • Reducing the effects of scattered marine litter
