Population Council
Overview
The Population Council is an international non- profit organization that conducts research to address critical health and development issues. Their work allows couples to plan their families and chart their futures. They help people avoid HIV infection and access life-saving HIV services. And they empower girls to protect themselves and have a say in their own lives.
In Egypt, the Council focuses on strengthening the research capacity of individuals and institutions and providing policy analysis and technical assistance to support informed policy decisions at the national level on family planning, reproductive health, and youth issues. The Council conducts research to improve the quality of reproductive health services and prevent unplanned and closely spaced pregnancies and works to understand and address the needs of youth and adolescents to help them make successful transitions to adulthood.
