Qalb Kabeer
Overview
It is an Egyptian non-governmental organization founded in 2005. It aims to develop the skills and knowledge of educational institutions and initiatives, and to improve its role within the family to protect and support children and adolescents. It works to develop the skills of the most vulnerable groups in the governorates of Egypt. Big Heart has implemented programs for children at risk, those below the poverty line, people with disabilities, refugees, and marginalized adolescents in Egypt.
The most important of these programs are: the "Anakrit" program for psychological support in government schools and social care homes; "Your Big Heart Square" for educational support and communication support in the field of education, to build the capacity of initiators in at-risk education, socially, and psychologically; and "Initiators in Education" for children at risk, networking, and exchanging experiences, knowledge, and resources among them. In addition, it targets parents and mothers in educational and social sciences programs. Big Heart received the Ashoka Fellowship for Social Entrepreneurship, the Founding Board of the Nuclear Union, and participated in the Innovation Initiative to support reproductive health.
