RED NOSES Jordan

Overview

RED NOSES Jordan is a branch of RED NOSES Clowndoctors International, dedicated to bringing joy and laughter to individuals in need, particularly those in hospitals and crisis situations. The initiative began in 2014 under the "Emergency Smile" programme, conducting clown visits to Syrian and Palestinian refugee camps such as Zaatari, Al Azraq, Baqaa, and Emirati. Simultaneously, regular visits commenced at the King Hussein Cancer Centre and Doctors Without Borders Hospital in Amman, both of which became key partners. By 2017, RED NOSES Jordan was officially registered, becoming the 11th member of the RED NOSES group. The organization's healthcare clowns aim to boost patients' resilience and willpower by introducing humour into medical settings. Research indicates that laughter can promote health by releasing endorphins, enhancing general well-being, strengthening the immune system, improving mood, reducing pain, and fostering social connections .
