Refugee Support Association (Modem)

Overview

The Refugee Support Association (Modem) was established in Ankara in 2014 to carry out activities at home and abroad for the problems of forcibly displaced people. Since the day of its establishment, MODEM continues to provide social and legal support for refugees to obtain rights and services, provides psychological and social support, organizes various activities to achieve integration. Modem conducts studies with all refugee groups regardless of language, religion, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and political view.

Modem continues its activities with lawyers, protection specialists, translators, psychologists, health educators, social workers, field workers, compliance experts, disability specialists and mobile field teams. Modem works with local authorities and other NGOs to facilitate refugee access to rights and services. Modem also organizes activities such as meetings and conferences, conducting research studies and supporting studies in this field in order to increase the social awareness of asylum seekers, and to promote cooperation and communication between NGOs and public institutions working in this field.
