Overview

The Relief and Emergency Foundation (REF) is a prominent Egyptian non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2013. Officially registered under license number 638 for the year 2013, REF operates in accordance with Egypt's Law No. 149 of 2019, which governs civil society activities. The foundation is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities both health-wise and educationally, aiming to enhance quality of life and promote sustainable development. Its mission encompasses providing humanitarian aid, fostering sustainable development through professional, needs-based interventions, and engaging local communities alongside various societal stakeholders. REF focuses on several key areas, including combating poverty and hunger, addressing malnutrition, offering primary healthcare, improving alternative care systems, and enhancing responses to crises and disasters. Additionally, the foundation is committed to strengthening civil society by building the capacities of volunteers and civil society leaders, ensuring effective leadership in sustainable development initiatives.
