Safadi Foundation
Overview
The Safadi Foundation is a Lebanese nonprofit social development organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities, particularly focusing on women and youth. Established in 2001, the foundation aims to reduce socio-economic disparities, decrease the gender gap, and bridge the divide between citizens and governing institutions. By fostering values such as freedom of thought, good governance, social justice, and education, the foundation seeks to cultivate a cohesive society that contributes to Lebanon's sustainable development.
To achieve its mission, the Safadi Foundation has established several centers offering diverse programs and services. The Women's Academy, founded in 2006 in Tripoli's Old City, provides education and training to women from marginalized areas, enhancing their roles within their families and communities. SAVOTEC, launched in 2017, delivers vocational training in fields such as construction, hospitality, and industrial sectors, aiming to stimulate local economic development and support initiatives like the Tripoli Special Economic Zone. Additionally, the Al Marsat Community Center focuses on building the capacities of young people in deprived areas, promoting their active participation in improving livelihoods through life skills training and community engagement.
