SOS Children's Villages Egypt is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and protection for children who have lost parental care or the risk of losing it. It operates under the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity" Registered with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity (No.564/2008)".SOS Children's Villages Egypt is a part of SOS Children's Villages International" under the supervision of the EUCM reginal office". The first SOS Children's Village Programme was launched in Cairo in 1976. In 1977, the Egyptian Authority for SOS Children's Villages was officially established by Ms. Jihan El Sadat, the Former First Lady of Egypt. SOS currently
has two operating villages, one in Alexandria (Al-Amaria Area) which was established in 1980 and the 2nd one is in Tanta, and it was established in 1984 in addition to other programs in Cairo, Alexandria and Tanta as well.
