SOS Children's Villages Lebanon is a non-governmental non-profit social development National Association and a member of the International Federation of SOS Children's Villages.They Strengthen Family By providing short term emergency assistance and a long term empowering package, the Family Strengthening Program enables families at risk of child abandonment to ensure their children’s right to a family and stable environment.
SOS Children's Villages Lebanon aids these families financially by helping care-givers (mother or sibling, since most of these families have lost the father one way or another) acquire specific skills that will help enhance their economic situation. Thus, these families are empowered to achieve economic independence and as a result the ultimate goal is achieved: preventing child abandonment.
