Common Goal

Overview

Common Goal is a global movement that unites the football community to drive social change and promote sustainability. Founded in 2017 by former footballer Juan Mata and Jürgen Griesbeck, the initiative encourages players, coaches, clubs, and organizations to pledge a minimum of 1% of their earnings to a collective fund. This fund supports high-impact community organizations worldwide that use football as a tool to address pressing social issues such as gender equality, anti-racism, LGBTQ+ inclusion, youth employability, and peacebuilding. Operating in over 90 countries and reaching more than 1.3 million young people, Common Goal leverages the unifying power of football to create an equitable and sustainable future for all.
