Overview
Biodiversity & Environmental Research Center (BERC) is a non‑governmental research and educational organization based in Til Village, Nablus, Palestine, established in 2001 with the mission of advancing understanding, conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity and the environment. It conducts scientific research, publishes studies and provides training, technical consulting, and public awareness on topics such as plant biodiversity, conservation biology and environmental science, often focusing on Palestinian ecosystems and native species. BERC maintains collaborative projects, a botanic garden and seed bank, and engages in activities like publishing red lists of native plants, supporting graduate research, and participating in international conservation initiatives. The center aims to serve as a local authority in biodiversity research and education, promoting sustainable environmental practices for the benefit of present and future generations.
