The Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC)

Overview

The Global Disaster Preparedness Center (“GDPC”) is both a resource center and think tank that promotes innovation in disaster preparedness and supports research and knowledge sharing amongst disaster preparedness professionals worldwide. Established in 2012 by the American Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the GDPC’s primary aim is to strengthen the disaster preparedness capacities of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, while also contributing to wider preparedness efforts in order to help safeguard communities from future disasters.
