The Palestinian Network of NGOs (PNGO)
Overview
The Palestinian NGO Network is an independent civil democratic gathering, which aims to support and empower Palestinian society within the framework of promoting democratic principles, social justice, sustainable development and respect for human rights. The network provides its services without discrimination on the basis of religion, gender or race. In its membership, the network includes 133 Palestinian NGOs working in various humanitarian, social and development fields.
The Palestinian NGO Network was established in September 1993, immediately after the signing of the Oslo Agreement, with the aim of strengthening cooperation, consultation, coordination and networking between different civil society organizations. Since then, until now, the network of NGOs has become one of the important components of Palestinian society, especially as a link and reference frame for coordination between NGOs at the local, regional and international levels.
