The Social and Solidarity Economy Laboratory (Lab`ess)

Overview

The Social and Solidarity Economy Laboratory (Lab'ess) is a Tunis-based organization established in 2012 in the wake of the Tunisian Revolution. It is dedicated to fostering social innovation and supporting change-makers across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Lab'ess operates as a structure of PULSE, an international initiative under the GROUPE SOS, a leading European network in social entrepreneurship.​

Lab'ess's mission is to accompany, finance, and raise awareness among individuals and organizations striving to create positive social and environmental impacts. It offers incubation and acceleration programs tailored for social entrepreneurs, providing them with personalized support and funding opportunities to maximize their ventures' social and environmental impact. Additionally, Lab'ess works closely with associations to strengthen their structural and economic capacities, promoting the development of more sustainable and inclusive cities at the local level. The organization also extends its expertise to support structures aiming to enhance their capacity in assisting social impact entrepreneurs and associations throughout the MENA region.​
