The Syria Campaign
Overview
The Syria Campaign is a human rights advocacy organization launched in March 2014, dedicated to supporting Syria’s frontline activists, humanitarian workers, and civil society—all striving for freedom, justice, and democracy in the face of ongoing conflict and oppression. Established at a moment when Syria’s plight had slipped from global consciousness, the group combines creative communication, digital mobilization, storytelling, and political advocacy to amplify voices of courage and resilience on the ground. Although it doesn’t provide direct relief, The Syria Campaign campaigns tirelessly to influence international attention and policy—highlighting the heroic efforts of groups like the White Helmets, pushing for sanctions such as blocking aviation fuel sales to the Assad regime, and securing a UN resolution against the illicit trade in Syrian antiquities. As a non-profit, it is registered across the U.S., UK, and Germany—operating under the names Voices Project USA, The Voices Project, and Voices Project Germany respectively—and is governed by a board chaired by Lina Sergie Attar. The organization remains fiercely independent, funded through individual donors, trusts, foundations, and institutional supporters, and reports publicly on its impact annually.
