Tunisian Center for Social Entrepreneurship (TCSE)
Overview
The Tunisian Center for Social Entrepreneurship (TCSE) is a pioneering non-profit organization established in 2012 with the mission to make social entrepreneurship a cornerstone of Tunisia's economy. Founded by Asma Mansour, Hatem Mahbouli, and Sarah Toumi, TCSE aims to provide sustainable and innovative solutions to the country's social and economic challenges. Its approach involves creating an inclusive ecosystem that engages public institutions, NGOs, entrepreneurs, and youth to foster social innovation.
TCSE's work focuses on four key areas: educating the public about social needs and innovations; identifying and incubating social innovation projects; advocating for supportive legislation; and strengthening connections with international networks and investors. Notably, TCSE has developed initiatives like the "Lingare" innovation spaces in Mahdia, Sidi Bouzid, Kasserine, and Tunis, which serve as hubs for community-driven social projects. Additionally, the organization employs gamified educational tools, such as the "Zaama" card game, to promote understanding of social entrepreneurship and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Through these efforts, TCSE plays a vital role in empowering youth and women, supporting entrepreneurs, and collaborating with government and public institutions to drive social and economic development in Tunisia.
