Turkana Education for All (TEFA)
Overview
The Turkana Education for All (TEFA) program aims to provide education for marginalized nomadic pastoralist children through the use of low-cost schools. TEFA together with UNICEF and the Kenyan Government aim to provide education for children of marginalized and nomadic pastoralist communities with low-cost schools. The Rapid School Readiness Initiative identifies school-going children in hard-to-reach areas that do not have access to any form of education. After the children have been identified, the Ministry of Education sends education officers to conduct mobilization activities to sensitize communities about the importance of education for their children.
