UNOY Peacebuilders
Overview
UNOY is a global network of 100+ youth-led peacebuilding organisations, working towards a world free from violence, where young people play a leading role in building peace and transforming conflicts.
UNOY Peacebuilders was founded in 1989, inspired by Russian diplomat Nikolai Firjubin's vision of a General Assembly filled with young voices addressing global challenges. Supported by Maria Kooijman and the Universal Education Foundation, an International Working Group met in the Netherlands, leading to UNOY’s official founding on September 15, 1989, with the mission of empowering youth in peacebuilding.
