Visual Arts Forum (VAF)

Overview

The Visual Arts Forum (VAF) is a prominent Palestinian non-profit institution established in 2002, dedicated to fostering community development through visual arts education across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It offers diverse programs that cater to children, youth, and adults, aiming to enhance creativity, self-expression, and social engagement. The Visual Arts Education Program provides a platform for individuals aged 5 to 70 to develop artistic skills in painting, installation, and sculpture through its School of Visual Arts. The Psychosocial Support through Arts Program helps children facing social challenges, including bullying and violence, by using art as a means of expression and cognitive development. Additionally, the Youth Economic Empowerment through Arts Program focuses on equipping unemployed young graduates with skills in visual arts, such as animation and illustration, to enhance their job prospects. The Community Awareness through Arts Program educates school children in rural areas about democracy, women's rights, civil participation, freedom of opinion, and the rule of law through artistic engagement. VAF believes that art and creativity serve as powerful tools for expression, change, development, and free thought, striving to cultivate a society that is conscious and engaged in contemporary human culture.
