Wadi Environmental Science Center (WESC)
Wadi Environmental Science Center (WESC)
Overview
The Wadi Environmental Science Center (WESC) founded in 1998, is dedicated to progressive outdoor environmental education. The goal of WESC is to complement and build on what is currently taught to Egyptian students in the field of science. Their students learn from cooperative, collaborative, hands-on and inquiry-based discovery. WESC teach students about their environmental and cultural heritage through science: water, renewable energy, waste management, pollution issues, environmental sustainability, biodiversity and climate change.
WESC vision to achieve a positive impact, daily and long-term, in the homes and lives of their students, teachers, parents, and partners as reflected in their values, appreciation, and behavior towards sustainable environmental activities.
WESC mission is to introduce an environmental component into the science curriculum; currently, environmental education is not integrated as a cross cutting theme. The mission of an environmental science platform is detrimental to Egypt’s learning structure and future.
