Wahat Al Farah Association
Overview
Wahat Al Farah is a Lebanese non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Established in 1987 by His Eminence Metropolitan Elias Kurban, Archbishop of Tripoli and Al-Koura, the organization aims to provide educational and vocational opportunities for children, adolescents, and adults facing these challenges. Under the leadership of Metropolitan Archbishop Ephrem Kyriakos, Wahat Al Farah continues to operate with a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. The organization's primary facility is located in Bkeftine, Al-Koura, North Lebanon, and serves a diverse community of individuals from various regions and religious backgrounds. Wahat Al Farah offers a range of services, including a special school for children aged 4 to 14 and community-based workshops for individuals aged 14 and above. These workshops focus on developing vocational skills and promoting social and self-independence through activities such as baking, sewing, carpentry, and handicrafts.
