Wahat Al Farah Association
Overview
Wahat Al Farah Association was founded as support center for mentally handicapped persons in Bkeftine, North Lebanon, in 1987 and is registered as a non-governmental organization. Wahat Al Farah cares for and supports mentally handicapped persons whose cases are mild or moderate as well as autism and cerebral palsy (mild cases) to become as self-reliant as possible and to improve their participation in society as well as their overall development. This includes social, psychological, intellectual, and cultural development as well as their physical abilities. To reach these goals, the organization runs a special school and sheltered workshops which provide access to adequate quality education and to employment opportunities.
