Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict

Overview

Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict is a global network focused on ending violations against children in armed conflicts and ensuring their rights are protected. Founded in 2001 by prominent human rights and humanitarian organizations, Watchlist monitors, reports, and advocates against serious abuses such as sexual violence, killing, maiming, abduction, and the recruitment of child soldiers. The organization also addresses attacks on schools and hospitals and the denial of humanitarian aid in conflict zones.

The network operates through collaboration with local, national, and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs). It emphasizes advocacy, research, and partnership to influence policymakers and promote effective child protection policies. Watchlist collects and publishes detailed reports on violations against children, raising awareness and driving accountability.
