WeWorld-GVC
Overview
WeWorld Onlus—today operating as WeWorld-GVC—is an independent Italian non-governmental organization born from the 2018 merger of two well-established associations: WeWorld (founded in Milan in 1999) and GVC (Gruppo di Volontariato Civile, founded in Bologna in 1971). For over 50 years, it has implemented humanitarian aid and development projects across roughly 27 countries—including Italy—with a special focus on empowering vulnerable communities, particularly women, girls, children, and youth.
The organization’s mission is to support those on the margins—geographically, economically, or socially—by addressing inequalities and promoting self-determination through long-term human and economic development and emergency assistance. WeWorld works to guarantee access to essential resources—healthcare, education, dignified work, water and sanitation, food security—while protecting human and environmental rights.
