Women`s Centre for Legal Aid and Counselling (WCLAC)
Overview
Women's Centre for Legal Aid and Counselling (WCLAC) is an independent, non-profit Palestinian community founded in Jerusalem in 1991, focused on changing the reality of discrimination against women and contributing to the building of a Palestinian democratic society based on the principles of gender equality and social justice. The Centre operates within the framework of a clear women's agenda, based on international human rights standards.
The Women's Centre, through the Community Services and Empowerment Unit, provides social and legal support and protection services to women victims of violence, as well as specialized programs in capacity-building for grass-roots institutions and service providers and oversees protection networks for women.
