King Abdullah II chaired a meeting to review Jordan's plans for green and climate finance. He directed the government to create a unified national strategy in partnership with the private sector.

The project is geared towards investing financial resources in the implementation of environmental protection initiatives. Its second aspect is concerned with the issues of reducing pollution and combating the climate change consequences.

The King emphasized during the meeting that technical support is of great importance for governmental and non-governmental organizations. The support makes it possible to local institutions to use international financial sources and accomplish sustainable development objectives.

Minister of planning of Jordan, Zeina Toukan, touched upon the remarkable achievements of the country. Thus, Jordan has managed to receive $295 million for the National Water Carrier Project from the Green Climate Fund.
